Four reasons to send a tourist to Tunisia

Here, tourists do not need to figure out what to do – Tunisia offers excellent beaches, a wide selection of entertainment and spa treatments. In addition, Tunisia is one of the most returnable summer destinations, information about which will never be superfluous.

First reason: the beach

Thanks to its fantastic coast, fine sand beaches that stretch over 575 kilometers, and a string of paradise islands, Tunisia is one of the best beach destinations in the Mediterranean.

Most of the beaches in Tunisia are sandy, with a gentle entry into the sea, and the width of the beach strip can reach 70 meters. Gradually increasing depth of the sea, fine white sand attract families with children. By the way, most hotels suitable for families with children are located in Hammamet.

There are also rocky areas – in the south-east of Djerba, in the center of Monastir and Mahdia, in North Hammamet and Nabeul, but even here there is a sandy entrance to the sea.

The best resorts boast the following resorts:

Hammamet’s beaches are the smallest and almost snow-white sand, a wide coastline and a smooth increase in depth.
The beaches of Djerba are very wide, in some places the coastal sand strip extends inland for half a kilometer. All beaches are sandy, rocky coastal areas are rare.
The beaches of Mahdia are white sand of incredibly fine “grinding”, a calm sea of azure color, an impressive width of the beach combined with good landscaping.
There is everything for an active family holiday. In between water aerobics and beach volleyball games, you can parachute and slide off giant water slides, challenge gravity in an amusement park, or take part in battles at a paintball club. For young and gamblers – a huge selection of discos, lounge bars, casinos and trendy clubs.

The second reason: a rich excursion program

In the history of Tunisia, different Mediterranean cultures have repeatedly succeeded each other. After the fall of Carthage, the Roman Empire established itself, the monuments of which are now generously scattered throughout the country. Seven sites and monuments are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for their cultural value: these are the objects of Carthage, Duggy, El Jem and Kerkuan, the old city in Tunisia, Kairouan and Sousse.

In Carthage, mainly the remains of Roman buildings – the Capitol, the amphitheater, the grandiose terms of Antoninus, as well as the Byzantine churches.

At 120 km from the capital you can see the ancient center of Tunisia – the ancient city of Dugga. The Punic mausoleum, a monument built in honor of the three gods – Jupiter, Juno and Minevra, the temple of the goddess Juno Celeste, a Roman bath, a triumphal arch and other ancient structures have been preserved here.

The most interesting monuments of the Muslim Middle Ages are concentrated in Tunisia, Kairouan, Sousse, Monastir, Mahdia, Sfax. Tunisia, the capital and main port of the country, was founded by the Phoenicians in the 10th century BC. Its main attraction is Medina, a medieval Arab city with bazaars, mosques and numerous shops. Here is the Bardo Museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of Roman mosaics.

Amid the mountain landscape, steep plateaus and peaks towering amazing architectural structures of Ksura. These “desert castles” used to be the connecting points for the region’s nomads. Some Ksurs, such as Chenini and Duire, are villages that stand on impregnable peaks. Berber is spoken here today.

Third reason: impressions

Major resorts in Tunisia offer tourists a wide variety of outdoor activities. For lovers of water sports open access to thirty ports and parking lots and seven coastal resort complexes, equipped with high-level equipment. The sea depths of Tunisia are magnificent, and most resorts have diving centers.

The variety of nature: from forests and mountains in the north, to the Sahara desert in the south, offers to make memorable walks along various routes: on foot, on horseback or on a motorcycle. You can improve your tennis technique all day long or ride a scooter.

Tunisia has something to conquer golfers. There are ten large golf courses located in places with a wide variety of landscapes, from Tabarka forests to Tozer’s palm groves.

Hunting lovers are offered guides that will show you the most interesting places and help you catch a wild boar.

For family vacations, the Phrygia Zoo, which is near the Hammamet resort, is suitable. All African animals are collected here, you can swim with dolphins, the animals themselves live in open spaces, in a natural environment. Hammamet’s CarthageLand Amusement Park is an analogue of the famous Disneyland. In addition to various attractions, there is a mini zoo, pastry shops, cafes. An hour’s drive from the capital is the Crocodile Sanctuary in Jebri. Alligators are brought here from Madagascar, so they can be called relic animals.
